When is it to early to plan Christmas cards?

Every year I have a get together with my Sister and we start our Christmas cards. I invite other people but so far the only one who consistently comes is my sister. I tell everyone that all they have to bring is their own cutter and favourite adhesive.
They can use my paper, stamps and inks etc.
This year I have planned it for October 19..... is that to early? I mean I've been watching Christmas movies since the beginning of September.
This would all seem normal if I was a person who was really into the whole Christmas thing. But truth be told I'm not 100% sure that I even like Christmas.
Its stressful and even my kids say it doesn't feel like Christmas unless I've cancelled it at least once.
Maybe its because I start it too soon.
What do you think?

WOW! Who knew?

Well its been a long time since I've stopped by here. Frankly I was surprised to find that my blog was even still around!
Although I haven't been documenting it rest assured that I have still been scrapping!
Amazingly enough I have managed to procure even more supplies. Lets see if perhaps I can give this another go. I would love to share what I have been up to lately.
So if anyone out there is reading this check back in the next couple of days, hopefully I'll have some new and wonderful things to share.

Ranting

Okay so I'm beginning to think that I'm in serious need of help. I've become so addicted to the Dusty Attic chipboards that I no sooner get one order in and I'm sending off another order.
Going to the Dusty Attic website and checking out the gallery has become a daily routine. Talk about intimidating! OH MY GOD! I've taken to talking to myself everytime I see a new lay out. My family keep looking over and going "What?" and I just answer "Oh Nothing... Just talking to myself!" All these short burst of words like "Gasp! Beautiful!!" and "Wow!! Gorgeous!!" and "OMG! Wonderful!!"
I'm torn between wanting to be as good as these women and being so intimidated that I'll never be that good....
Oh well no use worrying about it..........
All I can do is try Right?

Anyway. I'm still doing the pagemap of the month challenge from my local scrapbooking friends to complete my daughters album. Here is my latest...
This is the sketch............

And this is my take on it.....

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

So the group of ladies that I scrapbook with have been doing page sketch challenges both one page and double page layouts. I'm not really one for using page sketches but I figured that since I've been working on a book for my daughter for the last three years maybe this might actually help me get it done. I wouldn't exactly say I'm a procrastinator about this project its just that I get distracted with other projects. I think that I was a magpie or a raccoon in another life. Every time I see something shinny and new I want to try it out. Thats probably why I do so many mini albums. Either that or I have ADD. I was looking at my daughters scrapbook recently and I'm surprised at how much my style has changed in the last three years. Actually I've probably just been developing my style.(Yep that's my story and I'm sticking to it.)
Anyway this layout gave me a chance to use some Dusty Attic chipboard pieces. I just love the delicacy of that stuff. It's all laser cut and sooooooo detailed. I'm just in absolute awe of it ( ooops my magpie tendancies are starting to shine thru!)
Well this is the sketch..........

And this is my take on it..........

Of Course the fact that I can never leave any negative space shines through bright and clear. I had to add the clusters of flowers in the top and bottom corners because every time I looked at this layout it just about drove me crazy that these spaces were empty and needed filling!! :)

Well I've been busy

I've managed to finish another mini album. Even though I really wanted to have it done for Christmas I'm just not great at planning out my time. What I think will take only a bit of time always ends up taking me forever. Did I already mention in another post that I can't figure out how other people manage to turn out a mini album in a day? Like I said before.......... I'm highly suspect of how much time it really took.
That being said I have to say that there are so many words that I have written that I now must take back. I have jumped on the seam binding wagon and purchased some. I also now have the Tim Holtz Reindeer die even though I said I wasn't going to do it. I just couldn't help myself.
I'll admit it ......... I'm just a big mush ball when it comes to scrapbook supplies. As my friend Lori says "She who has the most toys WINS!!!!"
Anyway I'm now working on another mini album. Oh and before I forget, I actually remembered to take pictures of this one. Yay me!!

This is not the whole book but just some of the pages. I like the way it turned out but I'm not really a blue person. Its just that Melody ( who I made the book for ) doesn't have girls so why not make something that is a little more geared to boy pictures.

Raise Your Hand If Your Excited About CHA

I've been following the the sneak peaks over at Tim Holtz's Blog and at the Graphic 45 Blog. All I can say is OMG!!! I am going to be sooooooooooooo broke this spring when this stuff hits the shelves. I've already got most of the stuff I've seen put into different projects.
Now that being said I have to say that I thought the same thing about several of the G45 collections already and what ends up happening is I get the papers.......... I fawn over them and then I carefully place them into my hoard cupboard.
I don't know how my friend Lori does it but she just cuts into her papers and uses them. God I envy her!!!
I want to be more like her but I'm afraid that one day I'm going to be on an episode of Hoarders and its going to be all Graphic 45 paper stacks!!!
Thank God Tim Holtz is releasing stuff that I'll use right away instead of just hoarding it. But I am running out of storage space for my sizzix dies. Oh well I'll figure out some place to put it.

And The fun Continues

Well I got so sidetracked working on the twelve tags that I didn't get anything else done. Now I find myself a week before Christmas and a whole lot of half finished projects..........Why does this always happen? Could it be that I'm a procrastinator? No that couldn't be it!
Do you ever wonder how those women on youtube manage to get projects done so fast, and they also work and have kids and the list goes on.......... Personally I believe that they are just finishing up last years projects and it looks like they have just whipped up these projects in an hour or two.
My problem is that even when I finish my projects I never remember to take pictures of it. Anyway I did have a small project that I finished and gave to one of the ladies that I crop with. I of course didn't get a picture of it but someone else managed to get one so I stole it and downloaded it to my computer. Is it stealing if it's a picture of your own work?
It's just a small mini album that I made using envelopes. I think that I did a pretty good job on the cover.
